Johnny Lee Ray, age 67, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.
Johnny was a good man who’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved God, nature and his family…especially his grandchildren. His family meant a great deal to him. The world is darker without his light. He is greatly missed by all who knew him, most of all, by his family. “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck” Always and forever. Love, Punkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Massie Ray; brother, Terry Ray; sisters, Janet Wise and Judy Witt.
Johnny is survived by his daughters, Leigh Wilson and fiancé, Jason Witt of Dante, Va. and Victoria Nelson and husband, Morgan of Conover, N.C.; sisters, Becky Phillips of Dante, Va., Sherry Ray of St. Paul, Va. and Brenda Wells of Ala.; brother, Doyal Phillips and wife, Ann of Dante, Va.; four grandchildren, Trey, Hayden and Caroline Wilson, and Evelyn Nelson; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
At Johnny’s request, no public services will be held.
