Obituary of Betty Mae Shade
MARION, Va.
Betty Mae Shade, age 76, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tenn.
She was born May 11, 1942 in Tyrone, Pa. to the late Donald E. and Betty Ann Rutledge Markel. Betty never met a stranger and brought a smile to everyone she encountered. She even signed her name with a smiley face so everyone would know it was her. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Dale Leroy Shade, Sr.; daughter, Tonya Jean Shade; two brothers; and one sister.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Wendy I. Shade and fiancé, Christopher Randolph of Marion, Va.; son, Dale L. Shade, Jr. of Atkins, Va.; sister, Charlene Fink of Pa.; grandchildren, Adam Shade of Atkins, Va., Spencer Fontenot of Marion, Va., Seth Fontenot of Atkins, Va. and Daniel Engelskirchen of Ocala, Fla.; special cousin, Robin Kreider of Pa.; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At Betty's request, all services will be private.
