Obituary of Linda Ruth Rogers

WILLIS, Va. Linda Ruth Rogers age 68, passed away on February 9th, 2018 in her home in Willis, Virginia surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on August 28, 1949. She was raised in a loving home with her parents, Jervis Nobel Rogers, Betty lee Harrison Rogers and 6 siblings. Linda was not just a sister, she helped care for her mother and her younger siblings. She graduated from Valparaiso High school in 1969. Linda loved the beach and colleting sea shells. She loved working at John Deere and watching the lighting storms. She had an eclectic taste in music, as her mother said she was so ahead of her times. Linda spent her career and life caring for others and she cherished and loved her family above all else. She lived in California for many years where she met her soul mate, Leroy Maurice Monce Jr. in 1986 they moved to Bradenton Florida and married. Linda lived in Bradenton for 30 years until moving to Willis, Virginia to live close to her great great nephew, Jacob who she loved very much and whose smile brought her so much joy and happiness in her final year. Linda was preceded in death by her Husband, Leroy Maurice Monce Jr., Father, (Jerry) Jervis Nobel Rogers, Mother, Betty Lee Harrison Rogers and Two Brothers "Skeet" Jerry Lee Rogers and Larry Eugene Rogers. Linda is survived by her siblings, Brett Harrison Rogers, Byron Arthur Rogers, Ginger Lee Murphy and brother in-law, Connie Wayne Murphy of Bradenton, Florida, Nona Eileen Rogers of Hobart, Indiana and several generations of nieces and nephews, who she wasn't just an Aunt, but a second mother, unjudgmental ear and best friend. She had a special relationship with so many of them. A celebration of life ceremony for her and Leroy will be held at Anna Maria Island at a date yet to be determined.
