Obituary of Ronnie Lee Gordon
SUGAR GROVE, Va.
Ronnie Lee Gordon, 49, passed away on May 16, 2017 at home surrounded by friends and family. Ronnie was born on August 24, 1967.
He was a graduate of Rural Retreat High School where he played football for the Indians. After high school Ronnie enlisted in the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division. His service included a tour of duty in Korea, stationed on the DMZ. After returning home, he worked and owned auto parts businesses in the area.
Ronnie had a passion for music, books and poetry. He self-published three works of poetry and was an avid reader of a great variety of authors. He loved trivia and had a wealth of knowledge pertaining to US History and little known facts of past presidents. He once taught his daughter to memorize the presidents, in the order that they served, when she was only 5 years old. Ronnie was an avid collector of historical war memorabilia, as well as rock and roll ephemera.
Ronnie Lee Gordon is survived by: his mother Rosemarie Gordon, father Randall Gordon, brother Rusty Gordon, sister Rachel Gordon Enfield, daughter Gabrielle Gordon, and son Jimi Gordon. Ronnie leaves behind other family members and a long, long list of friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
A graveside service will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA.
